Protect Yourself From Scams

The holiday season is a time for joy and celebration, but it can also be peak season for scammers to try and steal your personal and banking information. Please read these great reminders and tips to keep this holiday season stress free from scammers.

What to do if you receive a suspicious email, text or phone call?

  • Verify the sender's legitimacy: by checking the email address and phone number carefully.

  • Be aware that sometimes scammers can duplicate Thrive’s phone number.

    • When in doubt, hang up and contact us directly.

  • Do not click on suspicious links: in emails or texts and be wary of attachments from unknown senders.

  • Ignore unsolicited emails or messages asking for personal details for payment information.

How to Protect Yourself from Scammers:

  • Never share your personal information through unsolicited emails, texts, or phone calls, even if the sender appears to be from Thrive Credit Union.

  • Be cautious of unexpected requests for sensitive information.

  • Regularly monitor your account activity for any unauthorized transactions.

  • When in doubt – DO NOT respond and contact Thrive directly.

The email, text or phone call might be from a scammer, who might:

    • they haven’t - it's a scam!

  • claim there’s a problem with your account or payment information

    • there isn’t- it's a scam!

  • say you need to confirm some personal or financial information

    • you don’t- it's a scam!

  • include an invoice you don’t recognize

    •  it’s fake- it's a scam!

  • want you to click on a link to make a payment

    • but the link has malware- it's a scam!

  • say you’re eligible to register for a government refund

    • you are not- it's a scam!

  • offer you free money or goods in exchange for banking information

    •  it’s not real- it's a scam!

Thrive is always here to help you.
If you have any question about the legitimacy of a text, phone call or email - please do not respond to the sender and contact us directly.

Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season!
